ABOVE by Kömune, Wong Chuk Hang’s favourite rooftop drinks destination, has launched its brand-new Sunset Hour, where guests can enjoy a variety of carefully-curated cocktails alongside a complimentary snack bar while relishing breath-taking views, from Wednesdays to Fridays, 5pm to 8pm.
ABOVE by Kömune’s cocktail menu features an array of mouth-watering, uniquely-named tipples, including the beautifully-presented Chinese Ink (HK$108), a flamboyant representation of the Southside art scene made with Bulleit Rye, homemade local lychee syrup, fresh lime juice, tangerine juice and lemongrass, and the unmistakeable Rock Island (HK$118), inspired by the scenery of Shek O, made with Alipus mezcal, Cimarron tequila, grilled pineapple syrup, Bob’s bitter chocolate, finished off with a splash of lime and Hong Kong sea water. Just as tempting are the crisp Ma Hang (HK$108), inspired by the local Ma Hang Park, featuring vodka, fresh green juice that represents the park’s lush plants, lemon juice and a simple sugar syrup, and the Longevity Tree Sap (HK$138), made with Bulleit bourbon, homemade pine needle black tea syrup and dandelion bitters, which was created as a tribute to the Chinese white pine tree – an emblem of longevity and immorality.
Those looking for lighter cocktails can sip on the Summer Solstice (HK$98), a refreshing mix of herbal tea-infused gin, kumquat juice, fresh passionfruit, lime juice and calamansi, the Ward of Kömune (HK$90) made with Bulleit rye, green tea, house-made green tea syrup and Chambord, or the Crazy Bell Pepper (HK$90) – tequila infused with Sichuan pepper, fig honey, yellow chartreuse and lemon juice – which delivers a delightful spicy punch.
Red, pink and white wines, and bubbles are also offered, alongside draught beers, bottled beers, ciders and handcraft beers (all HK$68) from breweries such as the Kömune “The Artist Beer”, local-favourite Young Master, Hitachino from Japan and Mountain Goat from Australia.
Sunset Hour guests can also hit the snack station and graze on flatbreads alongside dips such as guacamole, hummus and baba ghanoush, and other delectable bites created fresh in the Kömune’s kitchen downstairs.
